Job description
Job Purpose
To provide high-quality administrative support to enable the efficient and effective management, delivery and development of the General Practice led teaching and assessment components of the MBChB programme.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Responsible for working in collaboration with Academic Leads and Senior Professional Services Managers to manage the operational delivery of General Practice led teaching and assessment as a fully integrated part of the MBChB programme.
2. Take a leading role in the development of policies and practices to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of General Practice led teaching and assessment delivery, taking account of all stakeholder requirements and available resources.
3. Lead and develop a high performing team of General Practice administrators to provide and enhance the support experience for staff and students.
4. In liaison with the Additional Costs of Teaching (ACT) Officer and ACT Budget Holder, administer the GP ACT budget for undergraduate education to ensure that teaching activities are accurately costed and reimbursed, expenditure projections are provided for future planning, and accurate reports are provided to the ACT Officer.
5. Responsible for the recruitment and allocation of General Practice Teaching Practices as necessary – with particular emphasis on sourcing placements as required throughout all years of the MBChB programme. This includes support for training and ongoing communication.
6. Management of all aspects of General Practice Tutor recruitment in conjunction with People & Organisational Development and according to recruitment policies and procedures.
7. Management of the planning and delivery of General Practice tutor training events, with particular emphasis on the annual training conference. 8. Responsible for overseeing the recruitment and payment of General Practice interviewers for Admissions Interviews and examiners for the OSCE examinations, ensuring that all relevant People & Organisational Development recruitment processes are adhered to.
9. Responsible for the organisation and coordination of marking arrangements for the Year 3 Longitudinal Portfolio (LP) assessment and Year 4 Ethics formative assessment, together with the subsequent preparation and processing of student results.
10. Contribute to the review and planning of General Practice led teaching through the Education Management Group (EMG) to ensure that programmes are effectively costed, evaluated and delivered.
11. Oversight of the awarding of annual General Practice related prizes, in liaison with the Academic GP Lead and Undergraduate Medical School Manager.
12. Assist with the set-up and on-the-day administration of OSCE assessments both on and off campus.
13. Undertake any other reasonable duties that either the Manager or Deputy Managers of the Undergraduate Medical School may request.

A1. Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills through
personal development and progression in a similar role(s) OR Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 8 (Scottish Vocational Qualification level 4, Higher National Diploma) or equivalent, and experience of personal development in a similar role.
Desirable
B1. Understanding and experience of administration in a higher education environment.
B2. Knowledge of the National Health and Primary Care services. B3. Knowledge of working with systems used within the University of Glasgow such as Agresso, CoreHR, Moodle, MyCampus and T4 web publishing.

Terms and Conditions
Salary will be Grade 6, £33,232 - £36,924 per annum.
